Tara Burt was born in Memphis, Tennessee and now resides across the state line in Hernando, Mississippi.  Being a predominantly self-taught artist, Tara’s thirst for art knowledge began at a young age when her Granddaddy Bill, a hobby artist, taught her to sketch when she could first hold a pencil.  Painting has been a source of relaxation and comfort throughout her life.  In 2021, she unpacked her paints and brushes to pursue her creative side apart from her Physical Therapy career. 

It is safe to say Tara has been a life-long lover of florals and the simple joys of nature. Inspiration for her collections comes from her drives around Northern Mississippi, visits to her home state of Tennessee, her mother’s garden, her two children`, fond memories, trips to antique stores, and the beautiful lines of creation. Blues and greens are the colors she is drawn to, but she does not shy away from a good pop of color. 

Tara creates multiple bodies of work as she loves both watercolor and acrylic mediums for their stark differences but similar building techniques.  Over the past three years in her painting career, Tara has worked with wonderful clients from private commissions to a local Memphis interior designer outside of her collection releases.
