The title of this series is inspired by the atrium in my late grandmother’s home. She was a lover of butterflies, fashion, and natural stones and gems. She was a fierce businesswoman, elegant and feminine. I wish I knew her better.
Butterflies in many cultures are a symbol of transformation, personal growth, and spiritual awakening. As women we go through so many periods of our own metamorphoses. We morph from girlhood to womanhood, we become wives, life partners, we go from daughters to mothers, from mothers to grandmothers. While major, those are not the only changes women experience. We reinvent ourselves constantly, and I am frequently inspired by the women in my life who have morphed and grown into stronger versions of themselves. They have made the brave choice to leave a career that no longer served them, to start their own companies, to leave a relationship that was no longer healthy, to move to a new city, to become an at home mother, to become a corporate working mother, to set boundaries, to make choices that make them happy. This collection is dedicated to all of you.
